New Jersey
New Jersey was the site of a Zone Fighters mission in OVA: Mall Raid, where they were sent to collect resources for Latitude Zero, in exchange for assistance constructing Dwarf Fortress.
Mission[edit]
J.J. tasked the Zone Fighters with entering a derelict mall, in New Jersey, in an effort to recover valuable materials, vital to Latitude Zero. In exchange for any recovered items, assurances were made to assist in the construction of the Zone Fighters' newest project, Dwarf Fortress, on the Antarctic ice shelf.
Airdropped from Mary-Ann, the crew, onboard Lil' Smokey, descended on the parking lot of the mall, with an empty cargo container in tow, ramming the front gates for entry.
Despite a slightly disjointed entry, the team managed to come together, and make their way through a heavily mutant-infested retail center, advancing on a large hardware store, situated at the rear of the building. Henry, being the stealthiest of the party, disembarked from the vehicle early, opting to scout out a local jewelry store, and recovering a vast fortune of gold and jewels, from under the noses of numerous Esper Humanoids.
As the party, atop Smokey, barreled further into the mall, they encountered several Soft-bodied Humanoids, who they dispatched with ease, due to their mech's heavy weaponry, but the sounds of combat drew the attention of the malls other residents.
When they finally reached the hardware store, they used Smokey to rip out the front entrance, and began loading several aisles worth of merchandise into a waiting cargo container, even as different mutants of various kinds began amassing in the pathways.
Finally, having looted the store of most of it's valuables, the crew was contacted by L-Banda, who began taunting them about their impending destruction, by way of his Giant Space Laser. Due to technical difficulties, and having been verbally accosted by Ajax, L-Banda began firing on the Zone Fighters, but was only capable of doing so with large pauses.
After collecting Henry, by way of James incinerating the interior of the jewelry store, as Henry took refuge in a vault, the group finally crashed through the exterior wall of the mall, just as the space laser reached full capacity and obliterated the structure.
Aftermath[edit]
Having successfully evacuated with their haul, supplemented with a massive amount of gold and jewels, via Henry, the group were airlifted out of New Jersey, and returned to Latitude Zero.
